Effective date: 12 July 2026 · Applies to the OMEGA and OMEGA Install apps for iOS, published by Dampf.
OMEGAMusic & room control for OMEGA systems
OMEGA InstallSetup & management for professionals
The short version
The OMEGA apps do not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The apps talk to your OMEGA amplifiers over your own local network, and your settings stay on your device.
1. Who we are
The OMEGA and OMEGA Install apps are published by Dampf, the maker of OMEGA audio systems for hospitality and residential installations. You can reach us at info@dampf-hotel.com or via dampf-hotel.com.
2. Data we collect
None. The apps have no user accounts, no sign-up, and no server operated by Dampf that receives data from the apps. We do not collect names, email addresses, locations, identifiers, usage analytics, or diagnostics. We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs of any kind.
3. How the apps work
Local network
The apps discover and control OMEGA amplifiers by communicating with them directly over the Wi-Fi network your device is connected to. iOS will ask for Local Network permission for this. These commands (volume, source, playback, grouping) go only to the amplifiers on your network — never to Dampf or any cloud service. You can withdraw this permission at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network; the app will simply no longer find your amplifiers.
Bluetooth (OMEGA Install only)
The installer app can use Bluetooth to set up a new amplifier that is not yet on a Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi name and password you enter during setup are sent directly to the amplifier and are not stored by the app afterwards or shared with anyone else. You can withdraw Bluetooth access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Bluetooth.
On-device storage
Your preferences — remembered speakers, radio favorites, recently played stations, and app settings — are stored locally on your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.
4. Third-party services the apps contact
Two features fetch publicly available information from the internet. We send no account, name, or device identifier with these requests — though, as with any internet request, the receiving server sees your IP address — and Dampf receives nothing:
- Album artwork (Apple iTunes Search API). When music is playing without embedded artwork, the app looks up cover art by sending the track title and artist name to Apple's public iTunes Search API (
itunes.apple.com). Apple's handling of these requests is described in Apple's privacy policy. - Internet radio (Radio-Browser directory & station streams). The Radio tab searches the free, community-run Radio-Browser directory (
radio-browser.info) using the search terms you type. When you play a station, your device streams the audio directly from that station's own server, which — like any website you visit — is operated by the broadcaster, not by Dampf.
Playback started through AirPlay or Spotify Connect happens between those apps/services and your amplifiers; it is governed by their own privacy policies, not by the OMEGA apps.
5. Data sharing and selling
We do not share or sell any data — we have none to share. No user data is disclosed to third parties, so no third party receives anything that would require protection. The apps contain no third-party analytics, advertising, or social SDKs.
6. Children
The apps are not directed at children and, as described above, collect no data from anyone.
7. Data retention, deletion & your rights
Retention: we retain nothing, so there is no retention period. All app data (remembered speakers, favorites, settings) lives only on your device.
Deletion: deleting the app from your device permanently removes all of its data. There is no copy anywhere else to ask us to delete.
Your rights: because the apps collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or erase under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws. If you have any privacy question or request, contact us at info@dampf-hotel.com and we will respond promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the apps changes how data is handled, we will update this page before that version is released and revise the effective date above. This page is the canonical location of the policy: dampf.pro/privacy.
